Ankita’s wedding trousseau

Ankita donned a beautiful lehenga dipped in the shades of traditional golden and red. The skirt of the lehenga was highly embroidered using the Zardozi work. The base of the skirt was on which the beautiful golden embroidery was done. The skirt had a heavily worked golden, fat lace at the bottom giving the whole lehenga a perfect traditional ethnic look.

The actress teamed her dress with simple traditional jewelry along with a Maharashtrian Mundavalya. The Mundavalya is worn by both the bride and the groom at the Maharashtrian wedding.  It is essentially a string of pearls, tied on a level plane over the brow from the temple. There are two more pearl lines that drop from either side of the forehead to the shoulders, delightfully confining the face. The Mundavalya are tied after the lady of the hour is prepared to stroll to the mandap. This truly implies she is prepared to get hitched.

She even wore the chooda; a combination of the red glass or plastic bangles & golden kadas. It seemed like the actress wanted a perfect traditional wedding in a Maharashtrian style that is why she did not take the risk of missing anything. She further attached the traditional Kaleeres to her bangles. Kaleeres is wedding jewelry that is appended to the chooda or bangles. These dangling customarily Punjabi wedding frills are unequivocal in a Punjabi wedding however, every bride longs for wearing the Kaleeres at her wedding. This embellishment, for the most part, originates from the maternal place of the bride along with the wedding bangles and in a customary function; these are connected to the bangles.
