Graduated from the University of Central Lancashire, United Kingdom, Shilpi Gupta launched her own label called Surkhab. Her first exhibition was held at the Bikaner House, New Delhi.


Shilpi Gupta implemented this idea with an aim to rejuvenate the age-old craft techniques to India.
The event launch was held as a cocktail eve where the presence of Prince Adithya Varma and a few more Royal families enlightened the launch party.

Many celebrities and politicians were in attendance.

The event included a special dance performance by Shinjini Kulkarni, Birju Maharaj's grand-daughter. 


Salil Bhatt, a Grammy award winner also performed a musical evening with a blend of classic and folk music.
