The 10-day Silk India Expo-2017 was inaugurated by the Actress Lipsa Mishra on August 10th 2017 held at The New Marrion, Janpath. The event was organised by Hastashilpi- the artisans and weavers welfare association.

The intention to organise this event was to make the items available specifically to the customers, without the middle people to the weavers and artisans.
The expo featured designer product and Border, Kurtis, Apoorva Silk Saris, Baluchuri Saris, Embroidered creator silk saris and dress materials, Bhagalpuri suits, Hand Woven Matka and Assam Munga Fabrics and many more products.
Lipsa said that it was happy to saw different attire, especially Silk sarees, designers product displayed in the city under one rooftop.
