Cricketer Sreesanth and His Royal Wedding

Ace Indian bowler Sreesanth has bowled for the Indian cricket team and amazed us with some spectacular performances on-field. Little did we know that one fine day, he would be smitten off-field by a damsel who happens to belong to a royal family. Yes, you heard that right. We are talking about the wedding details of ace Indian bowler and his gorgeous bride Bhuvneshwari Kumari.

If reports are to be believed, Sreesanth and Bhuvneshwari have been in a steady relationship for a long time before their marriage. The couple has also made various public appearances together before their wedding too.

The pre-wedding rituals took place as per South Indian traditions as Sreesanth belongs to Kerala, the God’s own paradise.

The mehendi and sangeet ceremony took place as per North Indian traditions and customs in Crowne Plaza, Kochi on December 10. Sreesanth wore an off-white sherwani with a silver work stole and his bride wore in sunshine yellow lehenga with traditional Rajasthani jewelry.

The ceremony took place on December 10 in Kochi and was culminated by folk dance and various Bollywood numbers. Violin recital by master performer Balabhasker was the highlight of the evening.

The next day, on December 11, there was a small puja that was attended only by close family members at Guruvayoor Sree Krishna Temple in a simple ceremony.

The bride looked pretty in a golden kanjeevaram saree. She styled her hair in a bun and adorned it with fragrant gajra that made her look fresh and gorgeous. Sreesanth, on the other hand, chose to wear a white shirt and dhoti and stayed true to his Keralite roots.

Sreesanth tied the sacred thread, or mangal sutra, around his wife’s neck at 0745 hours following which the couple exchanged tulsi and flower garlands with each other.

The beautiful bride, the princess of Jaipur, is a jewelry designer by profession and the couple dated for 6 long years before deciding to tie the knot.

The wedding took place as per Rajasthani royal traditions on December 12, 2013, at a hotel in Kochi owing to the roots of the beautiful bride.

Every aspect of the wedding, right from décor to musicians to sweets and costumes were designed taking care of the Rajasthani traditions and regality of Rajasthan. The traditional ceremony took place as per Rajasthani folk dance and music and was enjoyed by one and all.

The wedding procession was carried on elephants and was led by local mahouts and was a sight to remember.

Soon after the wedding, the couple headed off to Kochi for a grand reception.

The reception ceremony took place at Hotel Le-Meridien in Kochi and was attended by friends and relatives of both the bride and the groom.

The groom entered the venue on a white horse covered with white satin. He was seen wearing an embellished sherwani and was seen carrying a sword and colorful turban.
