Urmila Matondkar And Mohsin Akhtar Wedding Feat

The Bollywood sweetheart Urmila Matondkar, who started in way early in the world of cinema gifting us all the pleasure of the sweet childhood song ‘Lakdi Ki Kaathi’ and several other hit movies in her teens, finally tied the knot in a secretive ceremony, leaving her fans stunned and heartbroken.

The news of her wedding came in as a big surprise amongst the film fraternity who expressed their surprise at the news and ultimately showered the couple with their heartfelt wishes.

Surprisingly enough, ace designer Manish Malhotra played cupid in bringing the 2 love birds together. Needless to say, Urmila Matondkar is a close friend of the designer while the groom, Mohsin Akhtar began his career as a male model who even worked with the Manish Malhotra label. The groom Mohsin has previously worked with Preity Zinta in a deodorant ad in 2007 and is not new to Bollywood. He has its roots from a well to do business family based in Kashmir.

If sources are to be believed, the 2 bumped into each other during the marriage of Manish Malhotra’s niece’s in the year 2014 and soon fell in love with each other.

The wedding took place on March 3, 2016. Though the wedding was a low-key affair, with the list of invitees from the world of Bollywood to the minimum, there was one name that was sure to be on the list of invitees. And that was Manish Malhotra. The couple, at any cost, made sure that the designer was part of their big day as it was because of him that the two met and chose to tie the knot.

42-year-old Urmila was every bit of a pretty bride and looked radiant in her wedding ensemble that took place at her residence on the afternoon of March 3 in Mumbai.

The beautiful bride was seen wearing a bright red Manish Malhotra label lehenga from his Regal threads Benares collection. The heavily embellished dupatta and patchwork on the sleeves totally stood out making her look the prettiest bride ever. She styled her ethnic look with the right choice of jewelry including a beautiful Kundan choker, a gold maang tikka and stylish and long heavy earrings. Like a true and traditional Marathi bride, she looked super naïve in bright green bangles that are symbolic of every wedding that takes place in Maharashtra.

The groom, as well, complemented her beautiful bride wearing a peach color sherwani that did full justice to his tall physique. Age did not play a deterring factor in the wedding of the stylish couple as they posed for the camera in all their glory and charm.

The Matondkar clan chose the wedding venue as the terrace of Urmila’s place where a beautiful mandap was installed and the wedding culminated as per Hindu traditions and customs. All the wedding arrangements were taken care of the sister of the bride Mamta and she did a fantastic job, needless to say.
