The biggest ‘Khan’dan of the Indian Film Industry had all eyes glued on them as they announced the wedding of their beloved daughter Arpita Khan. The wedding that took place at the end of the year in 2014 was the most sought after extravaganza that took the Internet by storm and Instagram and Facebook was flooded with pictures from the elaborate celebration.
Arpita Khan got married to her longtime boyfriend Ayush Sharma in a lavish ceremony that was witnessed by some big names from the film industry. While Arpita Khan is an upcoming fashion designer, his groom is the son of political honcho Anil Sharma based out of Delhi. Such was the splendor of the wedding that it bought Salman and Shahrukh Khan in one frame posing and kissing the new-to-be bride in the most adorable way ever.
Big names from Bollywood including Priyanka Chopra, Aamir Khan with his wife Kiran Rao, Katrina Kaif, Karan Johar, Daisy Shah, director Kabir Khan, tennis player Sania Mirza, celebrity trainers Yasmine Karachiwala and Deanne Pandey were present to attend the wedding in full endeavor. The bride’s family members, her strong brothers Salman, Sohail, and Arbaaz, with whom she shares close bonds, played gracious hosts along with Sohail’s wife Seema Khan.
The fun and frolic of the sangeet ceremony were the center of attraction. Salman Khan danced to the tunes of his Bollywood songs like Dabangg and even performed ‘ChummaChumma’ for the bride and the groom. Salman and Priyanka danced together on the hits from their movie together like ‘Mujhse Shaadi karoge’.
A majestic six-tier cake specially prepared by Pooja Dhingra, from the Le 15 Patisserie fame was brought in that was cut by the couple to mark the onset of the wedding celebrations.
The feras and main wedding ceremony took place in the Faluknama Palace in Hyderabad in complete Punjabi style on November 18.
The lucky bride wore a Swarovski red couture Ghagra from the designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla’s collection. The exquisite ghagra was adorned with panels of scarlet fabric and decorated with gold Farisha and badla embroidery making the bride look like a sight to behold. The dupatta was well coordinated in color scheme with the ghagra and embellished with gold crochet and lacework.
She chose to accessorize her hair with exotic flowers and for the jewelry; she chose a heavy polki necklace. Ace celebrity makeup expert Daniel Bauer did her make up for the D-day.
The wedding ceremony was yet not over as the families threw a massive after-party where the couple, along with their near and dear ones danced away the night. The bride quickly changed into a white lehenga from the Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla again. The lehenga was adorned with Swarovski crystals and she completed the look with a French tulle stole. The bright red chooda and a simple maang tikka made the bride look divine and adorable.
The reception took place at The Taj Land’s end in Bandra, Mumbai on November 20. The bride, this time around looked stunning in a pistachio-hued beautiful lehenga.
