In a yet another high-profile wedding the country has ever witnessed,
YES Bank CEO Rana Kapoor’s daughter Radha Kapoor gets hitched to her long time
beau Aditya Khanna. The couple dated for 9 long years before they finally
decided to tie the knot. Both the bride and the groom studied together in New
York in 2007 and had common friends thus getting along came easily to both of
them.
The groom is a successful Financial Investor and partner at a hedge fund
based out of Delhi after completing his graduation in computer science from the
Cornell University and a CFA Charter. The bride, on the other hand, launched
her Indian School of Design and Innovation (ISDI) and is well settled
professionally as well.
A clandestine roka ceremony took place at the Khanna residence on
October 15 in New Delhi which was attended by the couple’s relatives and close
pals. Both the bride and the groom looked dazzling in traditional outfits. The
guests included Aditya’s parents Mina and Ravi Khanna and siblings Ridhima and
Divya, along with her husband Akhil. The bride’s side included her parents
Bindu and Rana Kapoor and sisters Roshini and Rakhee with her husband
AlkeshTandon.
Just like every Punjabi wedding, the roka ceremony was just the trailer
of the extravaganza that was ahead of the power couple. The bride looked
beautiful on her wedding day wearing a creation from Abu Jani ensemble and was
a sight to behold. The groom was at par with her charming bride as well and was
seen wearing a golden and white sherwani.
The bride also rocked her sangeet
ceremony wearing a pale blush lehenga by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. The
beautiful mirror embellishment and a cascade of ruffles on the dupatta were
icing on the cake which looked even more spectacular while the bride danced
away to the tunes of Bollywood.
Although the roka ceremony was a small family affair, the wedding and
sangeet celebrations were a series of festivities in itself. Staying true to
their big names in the corporate arena, the wedding was something to watch out
for. The grand wedding took place at The Taj Palace in Mumbai on January 28. Right
from the décor to food to designer wardrobe for friends and family, there was
no element that was missing to make the wedding feast look ethereal and
something to be cherished for a long time.
The magnanimous affair included a guest list that was super astonishing.
Big Bollywood superstars were in the list of special guests. Everyone was taken
aback seeing Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan gracing the occasion with their
humble presence. Not only these 2 mega stars, several others including
Preity Zinta, Kangana Ranaut, Sushant Singh Rajput, and Raveena Tandon were part
of the extensive guest list who made it to the wedding.
A mesmerizing performance by Kanika Kapoor on Chittiyan Kalliyan followed
by foot tapping numbers by Punjabi singer Sukhbir remained the highlights of
the wedding. Overall, every function was distinctive and gave us all serious
wedding goals.
