Television serial Nagarjuna fame actress Pooja Banerjee tied the knot with Olympic medalist Sandeep Sejwal in a grand ceremony.
Pooja is a sweet and lively girl met Sandeep who is silent and delightful at an event and hit it off instantly. They got comfortable being in each other's company and later fell in love. Pooja rose to fame with Channel V show 'Swim Team' is a Bengali from Aligarh while her swimming champion boyfriend Sandeep is a jat from Devanagari. He represented India in breaststroke events at various National and International contests. The two met for the first time at a swimming event.
The two dated for quite some time before Sandeep proposed her. Even though they were engaged during their time dating each time, everything got into place only after formalizing things with their parents. Both their families were in full support of their relationship. The two got engaged in a private low-key affair among close family and friends on October 12, 2016.
The pre-wedding photo shoot was quite special. Pooja posted the picture on social media introducing her beau and giving out wedding details. The two looked cute as a couple in those pictures which oozed out their love for each other.
Since Pooja is a Bengali and Sandeep a Haryanvi Jat, they decide to include both the customs in their wedding ceremony.
It was a big fat lavish wedding with a bachelorette, mehendi, sangeet, wedding and a reception.
The bride had a very cute and sweet bachelorette organized for her by her friends and family. The girls had a bomb time and made it very memorable for Pooja.
The wedding as scheduled took place one year after their engagement in February 2017. The first ceremony was Haldi which took place at the bride's residence among close family and friends. She was seen wearing a yellow and red outfit. Family members applied the haldi paste all over her as per customs and traditions.
The second ceremony was her mehendi. It was attended by friends from the Television industry. The bride was seen wearing a white skirt with a purple off shoulder embroidered crop top. The professional mehendi artist worked on her hands. Bridesmaid was also seen donning traditional mehendi designs. The bride happily showed off her mehendi. The mehendi event was followed by sangeet.
The wedding ceremony took place as per born traditions. The bride was seen in a pretty pink banarasi saree draped as per Bengali style for the pre-nuptials. She later wore a red lehenga and the groom complimented her in a gold sherwani.
The wedding reception later took place in Delhi. The bride was seen in an off shoulder gold and maroon gown while the groom looked like a pure royal in a deep purple suit.
