Credited to be the latest South Indian import, the talented actor from Tamil Nadu has, in a very short span of time, has wowed his fans all over the country with his splendid performances. While he has been enchanting his fans across the country and setting his mark in Bollywood with movies like Ranjhana and his music video launch ‘Kolaveri Kolaveri’, his personal life was making laurels for a whole different reason. Yes, we are talking about the wedding extravaganza of Dhanush with legendary South Indian actor Rajnikanth’s eldest daughter and noted movie director, Aishwarya.

Much to everyone’s surprise, Dhanush belongs to a family with a filmy background. His father, Kasthuri Raja, was a popular movie director and producer before his son decided to pursue acting full time. The duo met as part of work commitments and Aishwarya also happened to be Dhanush’s sister’s friend. However, with a lot of rumors that were doing the rounds of the two dating, their families eventually decided to put an end to all speculations by arranging the marriage between the two.
Without much ado, the wedding of Dhanush and Aishwarya was the most talked about event in the history of South India. Aishwarya is a noted dancer and a melodious singer as well and she boasts of a degree in corporate law from Ashram School of Law. Finally, at the age of 22, Dhanush decided to tie the knot with his lady luck and we could not wait for the marriage to actually happen.

The much awaited Dhanush-Aishwarya’s wedding took place at Rajnikanth’s residence on 18th November 2004. The venue was well decorated to culminate a traditional South Indian wedding as per Tamil traditions. The entire clan of both the bride and the groom were in full swing to leave no stone unturned in making the big day as special as they possibly could.
Dhanush looked his absolute best on the D-day dressed in a white shirt and white dhoti (called veshti in native language). He was an epitome of a true South Indian groom and looked dapper. He reached the venue in full swing and was welcomed by his mother-in-law with the traditional aarti.
The bride too looked ravishing wearing a green and golden kanjeevaram silk saree staying true to her South Indian roots. She opted for a neat hairdo that highlighted a long and beautiful braid that ran all the way to her waist. Towards the end, the braid culminated in the form of a gorgeous jada kunjalam. She further embellished her hair with fragrant jasmine and Vedchi flowers and looked ethereal. Her temple jewelry further accentuated her beauty and her maatha patti was the perfect addition to her bridal look.
On 21st November, the couple threw a lavish reception at Mayor Shri Ramanathan Chettiar Center.
While Aishwarya was seen in a bright red Banarasi saree with golden embroidery and sequins work and a dark green border, Dhanush looked dapper in a white silk shirt and white dhoti with elegant, golden border.
