Indian weddings have so many diverse rituals and traditions that keep the fun and entertainment quotient high. The extended grandeur of Celebrity wedding is a completely different affair. They are usually grander and are the star studded affair. You can spot celebrities from the industry, from couture gowns to customized traditional saree, the brides having the best wedding trousseau, and the guest dressed in designer outfits. But, Singer Chinmayi’s wedding to actor Rahul Ravindran was a completely different affair.
Chinmayi is a singer and a dubbing artist. She has given several popular songs in various regional languages and Hindi as well as she has lent her voice to Sameera Reddy, Kajal Agarwal, and Neetu Chandra. For her incredible contribution to the industry, she has also been nominated for the National Award.
Rahul is a well-known actor in Tamil and Telugu film industries. He has "Andala Rakshasi" and "Vanakkam Chennai" as his accolades in the film Industry.
The young playback singer met actor Rahul and they immediately felt the connection. Their friendship blossomed into a beautiful relationship. They dated for one year after which they tied the knot on May 5, 2014.
Though the couple was busy with the engagement and wedding preparations, they were very active on social media too to connect with their fans. They had tweeted on Twitter about their engagement.
They were poured on with congratulatory wished from their fans.
Though both of them belong to the film fraternity, they went for a low key wedding. They got engaged in a quiet ceremony among family and friends in Chennai on Sunday, May 4th. The engagement took place as per Hindu Iyer rituals.
The bride opted for a bright red traditional silk saree while Rahul went the traditional route wearing silk dhoti and shirt. They exchanged rings in front of friends and family.
The next day the couple got married in a Tamil Hindu wedding which took place in Chennai. The bride was seen wearing a bright orange silk kanjeevaram saree draped in Iyer style while Rahul was also seen in a traditional Iyer style dhoti.
The couple had opted for a low key wedding, decided not to spend much money on their wedding and requested all their family and friends attending the wedding to not gift them rather donate the amount to the 17,000 ft Foundation, a charity organization in Ladakh. This was a genuine request from them.
The wedding reception took place the same evening and it was a starry affair. Friends and family from the film fraternity were present to bless and congratulate the couple.
Chinmayi was seen in a white and red silk kanjeevaram saree while Rahul chose a black suit for the evening.
