Well, Indian weddings are known for all their hype with the arrangements, decor, clothes, food, and entertainment. And if it's a celebrity wedding then you will see more hype to it than a normal wedding. Now, tell me who hasn't heard of the chocolate boy of the Indian film industry Madhavan? The love story of Madhavan and Sarika that ended in eternal bond called wedding has a lot much to tell.

Madhavan is known for his roles in many movies; be it in Tamil or Hindi. From his gentleman acts to strict coach in his latest flick, this tall and dark guy stole hearts. His dimpled smile is enough to make girls drool over him. Though he was married before he got into the entertainment industry but the fact that he was married did not reduce the number of female fans in the industry.

The Love story

Madhavan wanted to become Army officer and serve his nation. But his parents insisted him on finishing his degree. After graduating as an electronics and communication engineer he was taking personal development session all over India. That’s when he met Sarika. Sarika was an aspiring Air hostess who attended his personality development session in Maharashtra.

On qualifying for her post she wanted to treat her master and asked him out for dinner. That's how their love story started. They got comfortable in each other's company and later started dating each other.

Ranganathan Madhavan is a Jameshdpur born Tamilian and Sarita is a Maharashtrian.

“…She asked me out on a date one day. I was a dark man and thought it was an opportunity. Didn’t know if I would ever get married, so, I grabbed on to the opportunity and married her.”
– R. Madhavan on his wife Sarita Birje

After a long courtship of 8 years, in 1999, they finally decided to tie the knot. Since Maddy was not into the mainstream film industry at that time, the wedding was a very close low-key family affair. It was attended by close family and friends. The wedding rituals were as per Tamil Hindu tradition. The entire event took place in Chennai. Sarita was seen wearing a deep red silk saree draped as per Iyer tradition while Madhavan wore a silk dhoti.

The reception took place later that evening where the couple hosted family and friends over dinner. They were seen wearing toning color outfits. The bride wore a cream colored lehenga whereas the groom Madhavan wore the matching color complimenting his darling bride. Friends and family present blessed and congratulated the couple.

From then on this couple has been one of the happiest with their son’s birth in 2005, making the bond stronger. They seemed to have a lovely life like next door ordinary couple without much glam and glitz. They are seen vacationing together, playing golf and hanging around.
