Vidya Balan is a famous Bollywood actress known for her strong and bold roles. She is also known for her alleged link ups with various actors. But finally, she settled down with Siddharth Roy Kapoor.
Siddharth is the CEO of UTV Motion Pictures. He has been married twice before and has been divorced. Vidya and Siddharth’s relationship was kept a secret and were rarely spotted together. They dated for two years before finally settling down.
Unlike other celebrity weddings, this was a low-key one attended by close family and friends. It was a dual celebration for Vidhya’s parents as both Vidya and her sister Priya’s wedding took place together on December 14th, 2014 in Chennai. The day was considered to be very auspicious and hence the two wedding happened on the same day. Only very close family and friends were invited, making it a close knit wedding.
Similar to other celebrity weddings, this one also had pre-bridal mehendi and sangeet ceremonies, a wedding, and a reception.
The mehendi ceremony took place at Vidya Balan’s residence. It was a very close knit affair. Vidya was seen in a yellow and red Sabyasachi saree.
Unlike other celebrity mehendi trendy designs, Vidya has a traditional round design. The only celebrity spotted at Vidya’s mehendi was Actress Rekha who is a close friend of Vidya.
The sangeet took place after the mehendi on the same day. Since Siddharth hails from a Punjabi background the sangeet ceremony was Punjabi themed. Vidya was seen in traditional silk saree while the groom wore a white kurta pyjama.
It was also a very low-key affair with a private dinner organized by the bride and groom’s family.
The wedding took place at the Cuffe Parade apartment in Jolly Maker Towers in Mumbai. The rituals were as per South Indian traditions. Vidya was seen in a bright red silk kanjeevaram saree while light mustard kurta with Lakhnavi embroidery.
There were no Bollywood biggies present. It was a homely affair. The couple posed for the paparazzi at the end of the day.
The wedding reception took place in Chennai where Vidya is basically from. This event, unlike the others, was the star-studded affair. Who’s who of Bollywood, friends of Vidya and Siddharth were part of their eventful day. They blessed and congratulated the couple. Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Vishal Bhardwaj, Milan Luthria and Ekta Kapoor were among the guests who attended the reception.
