Engagement is a pre-wedding formal ceremony held in presence of close family and friends and have some rituals performed before they are officially a couple. Equally exciting as a wedding; the grandeur of the occasion surpasses that in any other south Indian festivity. Malayali Singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi engaged to Santosh on December 14, 2016.
The visually impaired singer entered the film industry way early around 1995. She is a Kerala state film award winner and, also won the best singer award for the song Ottakku Padunna from Nadan in 2013.
The groom Santosh, a musician based in Bahrain goes to know about the singer through a matrimonial site. As both their families agreed, the couple decided to proceed with the proposal. The engagement ceremony was a private affair that took place in the singer's house in Kerala.
Both the bride and the groom exchange their rings in front of the guests including very close friends and family to have themselves proclaimed as engaged.
The bride was seen wearing a dark pink saree while the groom was seen in a traditional white mundu and shirt. The rituals took place as per Hindu Kerala tradition.
